How to Write Twitter Threads That Go Viral: A Step-by-Step Guide
Twitter threads are a great way to share valuable information and insights with your followers. In order to create a successful thread, it's important to have a clear purpose that provides value to the reader. This can be achieved by focusing on your niche and areas of expertise, and breaking down complex subjects into 4 or 5 actionable steps.
The structure of a successful thread includes a hook, intro, body, conclusion, and call to action (CTA). The hook is the opening tweet and is responsible for 95% of the thread's success. It's crucial to make sure the hook is simple, clarifies the value the reader will get from the thread, and is tastefully clickbaity.
The intro further crystalizes what the thread is about and guides the reader on their journey to the end. The body is where you deliver the information and should be easy to read, short, concise, and actionable. The conclusion is your closer and determines if the reader likes and retweets the thread. The CTA is the value exchange and should be included at the end of the thread.
When crafting the hook, it's important to put yourself in the shoes of the reader and think about how likely they will be to keep reading after the first line. The intro should include another tease on why the information you're about to present is so important, and summarize what you'll cover in the subsequent tweets.
The body should be broken down into 3-5 "chapters" which can be turned into tweets. Each chapter should be covered in just two 280-character chunks to keep the thread simple and concise. Remember to include an actionable step in each chapter to make it easy for the reader to implement what they've learned.
By following these tips, you can create a successful and valuable Twitter thread that your followers will appreciate and engage with.
